Action Resources awards Harley Davidson motorcycle to Cordele, Georgia, driver

March 18, 2016

HANCEVILLE, Alabama – Action Resources presented the keys to a brand-new Harley Davidson Softail Heritage Classic motorcycle to Cordele driver Jack Curles on Friday, March 18, 2016, at the company’s Hanceville, Alabama headquarters. Curles was the winner of the 2015 Driver Referral contest, referring more drivers than any other Action Resources associate.

Keys and title were handed over by Greg Orr, president of operations for Action. Cordele Terminal Manager Mike Guest was on hand to congratulate the winner.

“Jack is the kind of driver every manager wants,” said Guest. “He’s always ready to go the extra mile to make sure the job is done right.” Orr concurred. “We can always use more of those type of drivers,” he said.

Curles has plans to get reacquainted with two-wheeled vehicles. “I raced dirt bikes when I was younger,” he said, “but I haven’t been on a motorcycle since. I hope it comes back to me quickly!”

Curles has been outspoken about working for Action Resources since joining the company in March, 2014. “I wish I had come to Action Resources years sooner,” he said. “Starting here was like coming home.” Undoubtedly, sharing that attitude was key to Curles winning the referral contest.

“He’s a great ambassador,” said Manager of Driver Recruiting, Cliff Abbott. “He does a great job for us, and then takes the time to tell other drivers about the benefits of working for Action Resources.”

Jack brought a trailer to haul his prize home to Eastman, Georgia, stating that he wanted to get familiar with the bike before attempting a road trip. Just as he does on the job, he puts safety first. “No matter how big the vehicle,” he said, “a good driver gets familiar with the controls and operation before taking it on the highway.”

Abbott said that the next Driver Referral prize will be a $10,000 cash payment that will be awarded just in time for Christmas shopping. “One Action Resources family will be really happy with what Santa leaves under the tree this year!” he quipped. “Our drivers are a big part of our future growth.”

Thanks to Curles, the Action Resources team has a few more good drivers, and Jack has a new Harley to ride when he gets home. Interested drivers should call Driver Recruiting at 800-338-2717 or visit the Action Resources Careers page.
